Mellah x Tuck Shop Co.

Mellah and Tuck Shop Co. have collaborated to bring you a special mini collection of artisanal hand-knotted Moroccan rugs. In honour of Canada's 150th birthday, designer Lyndsay Borschke chose two rug designs that celebrate the outdoors and Canadian cottage culture.

TRUE NORTH - (74"L x 48"W)

Captures the essence of true Canadian cottage culture - Lakes, woods, wildlife, canoes and teepee's. Black and white design that'll fit in with any decor. This rug is playful and symbolic of our beautiful country!

And...GREAT LAKES - (74"L x 48"W)

Historically these interconnected freshwater lakes have been a major highway for transportation, migration and trade - taking us back to our roots! They form the largest group of freshwater lakes on Earth and contain 21% of the world's fresh water. A true symbolic landmark of our beautiful country!

These rugs are made of hand-spun Moroccan wool at a women's co-operative in Khenifra, a small city situated in the Atlas Mountains, between Fez and Marrakesh. Rugs have been made in this region since the Paleolithic era. The co-operative provides the women with a reliable income through traditional craft.

Note: Good rugs take time!

These hand made, one-of-kind pieces are labour intensive, individual creations.

We estimate you will have your rug 60 days after ordering, but, please be patient.
